Finding Accommodation

When looking for off-campus accommodation it is important to consider your accommodation requirements such as location, lifestyle, budget and length of lease, and the type of accommodation you are looking for.

Off-campus Accommodation Services can help you in providing information on how to find accommodation, what to look for when inspecting properties, how to apply for accommodation once you have found the right place and a few tips on how to make the most of living off-campus.

Note: You do NOT need to apply for off-campus accommodation before arriving. Off-campus accommodation is entirely privately owned and is not controlled by the University.

We firmly advise the following:

  • Do not sign any contracts for accommodation without first inspecting the property.
  • Do not ask friends to secure accommodation before you arrive.
  • Do not pay deposits or send money before physically sighting a property.
  • Do not pay money through a funds transfer to someone you don't know.

International Students: Be cautious of using wire transfer as a payment method because this payment may be very difficult to cancel by the time the fraud is reported.
